Antique 19th Century Hand-Blown Glass Fly Wasp Trap (2)
£35.00
On offer is an antique 19th-century hand-blown glass fly or wasp trap. These utilitarian vessels were designed with an internal chamber accessible from below, allowing insects to enter but making it difficult for them to escape. This example shows the characteristic bubbly glass and irregularities expected of early hand-blown household glassware. It stands approximately 5 inches tall and 5.5 inches in diameter. The top rim is a little rough, which is typical for the period and method of manufacture. A good, well-preserved example of 19th-century domestic glass.
