These loose plates originally formed the Dresdner Galerie portfolio published by Verlag von Woldemar Urban and photographically printed by Wilhelm Hoffmann of Dresden using the detailed Lichtdruck collotype process.

The prints reproduce paintings associated with the Dresden Gallery and include religious, mythological, portrait, landscape and traditional genre subjects. Artists represented include Rubens, Titian, Van Dyck, Carlo Dolci, Ribera, Ruisdael and Albani, among others. The subjects are captioned beneath the images in German, English and French.

All 50 antique Dresdner Galerie collotype prints have been individually photographed. Please study every photograph as part of the condition report. Overall, the prints remain in good condition and are ready to be mounted and framed. One or two have tiny areas of faint foxing, one or two have minor creases around an outer edge, and one or two have a red stain along an edge transferred from the former portfolio cover. These minor points are around the margins and would normally be concealed beneath a mount when framed.
