19th Century Bronze / Brass Pot Trivet Union Design
£30.00
On offer is an antique late 19th-century bronze or dark brass pot trivet featuring symbolic floral motifs and regional markings. The front is decorated with a Scottish thistle and an English rose, representing union between the nations, while the reverse bears the inscriptions Glasgow, ETNA, and Registered. Its style and commemorative elements suggest it may have been produced for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897, a period when decorative domestic metalwares were often made to mark the event.
The trivet retains its original aged surface with wear appropriate to its years, adding to the authenticity of the piece. It measures approximately 9.75 inches in length and around 5 inches in width.
