Georgian Facet Stem Drinking Glass Engraved Ogee Bowl Circa 1790
£95.00
On offer is an authentic Georgian facet stem drinking glass dating to the late eighteenth century. Featuring an elegant engraved ogee bowl above a finely cut facet stem, this hand blown glass is a fine example of English Georgian craftsmanship and displays the balance and refinement for which period drinking glasses are so highly regarded.
The bowl is decorated with attractive floral engraving typical of the period, while the polished pontil and genuine wear to the foot support its eighteenth century origin. The glass also displays the desirable slightly grey tone often associated with Georgian lead glass and produces a clear resonant ring when gently tapped.
Standing approximately 4.5 inches (11.5 cm) high, the glass remains in very good antique condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. A superb addition for collectors of Georgian glass and eighteenth century drinking vessels.
