On offer is a 20th-century Chinese cloisonne enamel ginger jar with its original cover, decorated in rich enamel colours with floral motifs set within fine gilt wirework. Cloisonne has been a prominent Chinese decorative art since the Ming dynasty, with workshops throughout the 20th century continuing the tradition using copper bodies and detailed wire partitioning to create intricate patterns.

This example dates to the last quarter of the 20th century and stands at approximately 6 inches tall when displayed on its wooden base. The enamelling is well executed with good definition to the flowers and scrolling designs. Condition is good with light age-appropriate wear. A decorative and collectable cloisonne ginger jar that represents later 20th-century Chinese craftsmanship.
