Tek Sing Cargo Chinese Porcelain Bowl 1822 Fungus Pattern
£55.00
On offer is an early 19th-century Chinese porcelain bowl recovered from the Tek Sing cargo of 1822. The Tek Sing (“True Star”) was a Chinese junk that sank in the South China Sea while carrying a large shipment of porcelain, much of which was salvaged in the late 20th century and is now widely collected. This example is decorated in underglaze blue with the characteristic fungus pattern. It measures approx. 5 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches high and remains in good condition for a shipwreck-recovered piece.
