19th Century Armorial Porcelain Plate by Edmé Samson Hand Painted
£ 145.00
On offer is a 19th-century hand-painted porcelain plate made in France by Edmé Samson. Samson was well known for producing high-quality reproductions of earlier Chinese and European ceramics, admired today for their craftsmanship and faithful decorative detail. This example is decorated in the style of 18th-century Chinese export porcelain, featuring a finely painted armorial crest with winged griffins surrounded by colourful enamel floral motifs. The molded border and gilded rim echo period designs, with minor wear to the gilding but no chips or cracks. Measuring approx. 9.5 inches in diameter, it remains a highly collectible piece of Samson porcelain.
