On offer is a vintage Toby jug lamp base produced by Burlington Ware, the trade name used by John Shaw and Sons of Longton. Dating from around 1959–1963, this characterful piece captures the classic mid-20th-century interpretation of the traditional Toby form. Standing approximately 9.5 inches tall, it remains in good condition for its age, with one small chip to the foot rim as shown in the images. The lamp will require rewiring before use. A charming example of Burlington Ware pottery and a piece of English ceramic history.
