The painting is signed F Tunbridge and the original backing is inscribed Conway Castle, by Rev F Tunbridge, Xmas 1931. The decorative original 1931 frame has deliberately been retained. The frame has noticeable wear, while the mount has fading and areas of bubbling. The torn backing has been carefully taped into place to preserve the handwritten artist information. The painting would benefit from professional reframing, but remains an atmospheric example of an early twentieth century Welsh landscape watercolour.
