Cornish serpentine, sourced primarily from the Lizard Peninsula, has been used since the 19th century for decorative objects due to its distinctive veining and ability to take a fine polish. This example retains its original Bakelite fitting, and the wire has been cut, so it will require rewiring by a qualified electrician. The lamp stands approximately 6 inches tall including the fitting, and around 3.5 inches without it. Condition is good overall, with a small minor chip to the foot rim.
