Cornish Serpentine Lamp Carved and Polished 1930s 1940s
£35.00
On offer is a carved and polished Cornish serpentine lamp dating from the 1930s–1940s. Cornish serpentine, sourced primarily from the Lizard Peninsula, has been used since the 19th century for decorative objects due to its distinctive veining and ability to take a fine polish. This example retains its original Bakelite fitting, and the wire has been cut, so it will require rewiring by a qualified electrician. The lamp stands approximately 6 inches tall including the fitting, and around 3.5 inches without it. Condition is good overall, with a small minor chip to the foot rim.
