18th Century Thuringia Gotha Porcelain Jug

£345.00

On offer is an 18th-century porcelain jug from the Thuringia Gotha Porcelain Factory, produced during the period of Wilhelm Theodor von Rotberg, circa 1757–1782. The factory was one of the early German porcelain workshops that contributed to the development of fine European hard-paste porcelain, known for its detailed hand-painting and delicate modelling.

This charming jug is richly hand-painted with flowers and insects in soft polychrome tones, enhanced with subtle gilded details. The underside carries the factory’s underglaze blue R mark. Condition is very good for its age, with little to no wear and no chips or cracks. The jug stands at approximately 4.25 inches tall.
