18th Century Chinese Porcelain Platter Qianlong Two Peacocks
£225.00
On offer is a fine 18th-century Chinese export porcelain platter from the Qianlong period (1736–1796), beautifully hand-painted in underglaze blue. This example features the desirable Two Peacocks pattern, showing a pair of peacocks standing beside rockwork and flowering plants, all executed with crisp brushwork and rich cobalt tones. The border is decorated with a scrolling butterfly and floral design, a classic motif of mid-Qing blue and white ware.
Measuring approximately 27 × 19 cm, the platter is in very good condition for its age. There are minor rim frits and tiny glaze nibbles, entirely typical of 18th-century export porcelain, but no cracks and no restoration.
A charming and well-painted Qianlong platter, and an appealing example of Chinese export art from the later 18th century.
