Grinsell & Sons were noted producers of refined silver and glass desk accessories during the late 19th century, recognised for their clean lines and quality craftsmanship.
This example features a diamond-cut glass inkwell with a matching sterling silver lid, seated on a hallmarked boat-shaped silver tray raised on four bun feet. The tray weighs approximately 183 grams (excluding the lid). Condition is good with age-related wear, including a minor indentation where the weight of the inkwell has rested on the feet. Tray size is about 220 mm × 103 mm × 35 mm, and the inkwell stands around 65 mm tall.
