A Shared Vision

While Antiques Arena and Antiques to Vintage Magazine serve audiences thousands of miles apart, both organisations are built upon remarkably similar foundations.

We believe that knowledge should be shared, not hidden.

We believe that collecting is about more than value alone. Every object has a story, every collection has a journey, and every collector begins somewhere.

Most importantly, we believe that experience matters. Whether that experience comes from decades in the trade, years spent building a collection, or a simple curiosity to learn more about the objects that surround us.

Since founding Antiques Arena, I have focused on helping people learn through real-world experience. Through articles, videos, educational resources, and the Antiques Arena Academy, my goal has always been to make antiques and collectables more accessible while sharing both the successes and mistakes that come with life in the trade.

Antiques to Vintage Magazine has spent years doing something very similar for its Australian readership, providing educational articles, collecting guidance, historical insight, and stories that celebrate the people behind the objects.

A Special Beginning

I am particularly honoured that my first contribution will appear in the magazine’s landmark 100th edition.

Reaching one hundred issues is a remarkable achievement for any publication, especially within a specialist field such as antiques and collectables. It reflects decades of commitment to collectors, dealers, and enthusiasts, and demonstrates the important role the magazine continues to play within the antiques community.

To be invited to contribute to such a significant issue is both a privilege and an opportunity that I greatly appreciate.

What We Will Be Working On Together

As part of this collaboration, I will be contributing a series of articles to Antiques to Vintage Magazine, introducing Australian readers to aspects of the British antiques trade through personal experience and first-hand accounts.

My first contribution will appear in the magazine’s landmark 100th edition and focuses on the reality of UK car boot sales from a dealer’s perspective.

Alongside the magazine features, Antiques to Vintage Magazine has also agreed to support Antiques Arena and the Antiques Arena Academy through its website and related promotional channels, helping introduce Australian collectors, dealers, and enthusiasts to the educational resources available through the platform.

The collaboration is currently planned to run across multiple editions of the magazine over the coming year, creating an opportunity for both organisations to share knowledge and introduce their audiences to new perspectives within the antiques and collectables world.

Beyond that, we will simply see where the journey leads. The collaboration begins with a series of articles, but both Antiques Arena and Antiques to Vintage Magazine share a genuine commitment to education, collecting, and preserving knowledge. Time will tell what opportunities may develop from there.

Looking Ahead

This collaboration is about more than publishing articles.

It is an opportunity to share knowledge across international borders, introduce new audiences to different collecting cultures, and help preserve the experience and understanding that make our hobby and profession so rewarding.
