Rare 19th Century Sterling Silver Athletic Association Medal (1892)
£ 120.00
On offer is a rare and historically significant 19th-century sterling silver medal, awarded by the Counties Athletic Association, inaugurated in 1879. This beautifully cast and heavy silver medal was awarded for the 100 Yards Race – 2nd Prize (1892), won by H.G. Steavenson.
Expertly crafted from solid sterling silver, this medal has an impressive weight of approx. 51.1 grams and features an intricate and deeply struck design on the front, depicting heraldic shields with detailed engraving, floral elements, and crisp text. The reverse is finely inscribed with the event details, making it a one-of-a-kind collectible piece.
