On offer here are two tureens and a sauceboat in the countryside pattern designed by John Russell. The one tureen and sauceboat are fully marked for Midwinter, The second tureen is only marked England, There are also a few differences between the tureens, the lids are a different shape and colour, the one tureen is thicker and has a different rim shape. I feel looking at the pieces they are most probably all by midwinter just one tureen is an earlier example than the other. The tureens are similar in size, the largest being approx 6.5 inches tall with a rim diameter of 8 inches, the sauceboat measures without the handle at approx 2.75 inches high with a rim diameter of approx 4.5 inches. The condition is good with no chips or cracks. all three pieces have crazing to the glaze commensurate with age and use.
