Large Chinese Porcelain Immortal Figures – Republic Style Famille Rose – 14.5” Tall
£ 95.00
On offer is a striking pair of large Chinese porcelain immortal figures, dating to the early-to-mid 20th century and finely hand-painted in the famille rose palette. Standing at an impressive 14.5 inches tall, these figures are likely representations of revered Daoist immortals or deities — symbols of wisdom, prosperity, and longevity in Chinese culture.
The figures are rich with color and surface detail, from their elaborate robes to the expressive facial painting. One holds a traditional scroll, the other a ruyi sceptre — both classic symbols in traditional Chinese art. These were likely created for the export market during the Republic period or shortly after, marked “Made in China” to the base with impressed numerals.
Despite some signs of wear, these retain strong decorative and collectible appeal.
