The neck is bordered with a decorative ruyi (cloud collar) pattern in enamel, while the base and rim are finished with a bronze-tone metal typical of Chinese export ware.

Stamped “CHINA” to the base, this mark was required for export under the McKinley Tariff Act (effective from 1891), helping to confidently date the piece to the late 19th century to early 20th century.
